SPLIT PEA SOUP

Ingredients

2 cups dry split peas
5 carrots (do not cut; leave them whole)
1 cup chopped celery
1 medium brown onion, chopped
Shoyu or Tamari
1 stick of burdock root (also called gobu)
1 sheet kombu sea vegetable
14 cups of water

Method

This is a very simple soup to make. The time it takes to make is about 1 minute. Ready, set, throw everything into a pot, cutting only the celery and onions, leaving the carrots. Bring it to a boil, boil vigorously for 15 minutes, reduce flame to low. Cover and simmer low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
