Miss Muffin Sweetens Up a Party

By Linda Pliagas

Are you looking for a way to make your homeschooler’s next birthday party unique and entertaining?  Then be sure to incorporate Miss Muffin in the fun with her Party Camp Collection.
This delightful character is sure to add a bit of sweetness to your celebration. “She was created to help children have fun and create muffins,” explains Marcia Trimble, the creator of the collection.
Some of the activities that youngsters can enjoy, include: Decorating cupcakes to Miss Muffins songs, cut out a Miss Muffin puppet and participate in specialized character games.  One of these games is Miss Muffin’s version of pin the tail on the donkey.
The collection features Miss Muffin songs, scripts for Theater-in-the-Town and lyrics.    The affordable party pack ($39.95) also includes party invitations and five matching storybooks for guest party favors. This allows party planners the opportunity to incorporate the Miss Muffin theme from start to finish.
Miss Muffin is just one of the many characters created by Marcia Trimble, owner of The Trimble Tots.  The collection, which includes 16 titles, was inspired by her daughter’s childhood interests.  Trimble also credits her talented illustrators and musicians with giving her ideas and inspiration that allow her to expand her collection of colorful and vibrant characters.
Trimble is an advocate of incorporating numerous creative elements into the daily lives of children, which she says will encourage them to play their way into reading fluency. “If every child, every day could read, sing, act, dance and draw, this would really help raise their self-esteem,” she explains.
Each of her book collection is evolving into Stories on Stage, a program of books, songs and plays. A party collection is available for each of her books, which enables party planners to choose the right character and theme for their birthday child.
Trimble’s newest creation is Curley and Q and Me, too! Baby Album. This keepsake features an abandoned rocking horse named Q (short for Quarter) who finds a new home in baby Curley’s nursery.  This album includes places to write the name and insert photographs of your baby alongside.
The Baby Album is one example of the magical process of creation: “I was solicited by an illustrator that I liked and I didn’t have a project.  That day I was looking in my bookcase and I decided to do this book,” admits Trimble.
Be sure to log on to Trimble’s website to view sample pages from each book in her collection.  Viewers will marvel at beautiful illustrations and unique characters all while learning important life lessons that will stay with children for a lifetime.
The Trimble Tots Collection also features sheet music for piano teachers or parents who homeschool and play the piano.  The sheet music is downloadable on the website (, just follow the link with each CD.
