California Independent Study
El Camino High School and Homestead School are completely free programs as they are public institutions within the Ventura Unified School District. Both schools accept students throughout the year, service students throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties, and have an open-entry, open-exit policy. The Ventura Unified School District has other alternative programs for families seeking non-traditional pathways. “The Open Classroom” is an exciting program as well and is definitely worth a visit to their website, www.ventura.k12.ca.us/vusd/openclassroom .
